Official rules

Server Rules.

No teleports. Just adventure. These rules protect fair play, long-term builds and a player-led economy.

Version 1.0 Published 4 August 2026 · Revised 27 August 2026 Public Beta Phase I · LIVE

1. Core principles

VanillaMonster is a long-term Survival SMP where distance, exploration, trade and construction matter. Plugins support the world; they do not replace it with shortcuts.

  • Play fairly and do not buy, create or exploit an unfair gameplay advantage.
  • Respect other players, their builds, their time and shared infrastructure.
  • Use the world, roads, boats, horses, vanilla portals and approved Monster Transit routes to travel.
  • Follow staff instructions during testing, maintenance and incident response.

2. Conduct

  • No harassment, threats, hate speech, targeted abuse, sexual harassment, doxxing or publication of private information.
  • No impersonation of staff, scams, malicious links, phishing or attempts to obtain passwords, tokens, payment information or two-factor codes.
  • Keep public chat readable. Spam, repeated disruption and deliberate provocation may be moderated.
  • Disagreements must not become public harassment campaigns. Use the private ticket process for reports and appeals.

3. Clients, mods and automation

Do not use hacked clients, X-ray, freecam for hidden information, combat automation, movement cheats, duplication tools, macros, bots or modifications that perform gameplay actions or reveal information unavailable in normal play.

Cosmetic, accessibility and performance modifications are generally acceptable when they do not automate actions, expose hidden data or create an unfair advantage. Ask staff privately when unsure.

4. Bugs and exploits

  • Report serious bugs and exploits privately through a Bug Report ticket.
  • Do not reproduce, share or profit from an exploit beyond what is necessary to document it safely.
  • Items, currency, claims or progress obtained through an exploit may be removed or rolled back.
  • Attempting to hide exploitation or distributing instructions to abuse it increases the severity of the violation.

5. Travel and respawning

Normal players do not receive /home, /sethome, /tpa, /tpahere, /back, /spawn, /warp or /rtp.

  • Walking, horses, boats, minecarts, vanilla Nether portals, beds and respawn anchors are permitted.
  • Monster Transit operates only between approved physical stations and charges the published emerald fare.
  • Default, Supporter, Patron and Founder receive the same transport price, limits and access.
  • Administrative teleportation is reserved for moderation, testing and correction of technical faults.

6. Claims and land use

  • Use land claims to protect work that matters to you. Claim protection is available without a paid rank.
  • Do not place claims to trap players, block established roads, surround another claim, obstruct public infrastructure or hold strategic land solely to disrupt others.
  • Respect reasonable space around active builds and settlements. Staff may resolve boundary disputes or remove abusive claims.
  • Claims do not authorise rule-breaking, harassment, exploit farms or deliberate performance damage.

7. Griefing and theft

Do not damage, steal from, sabotage or deliberately interfere with another player’s builds, containers, animals, crops, redstone, shops or infrastructure without clear permission. This applies even when something was accidentally left unclaimed.

CoreProtect and other evidence may be used to restore damage and identify responsibility.

8. Economy and trade

  • Emeralds are the primary server currency. Player shops and direct trade are the normal market.
  • No scams, misleading shop setups, payment fraud, item-switching or deliberate abuse of another player’s mistake.
  • No alt-account abuse, vote manipulation, reward duplication or evasion of purchase and reward limits.
  • Do not manipulate technical bugs to create items or currency. Staff may reverse illegitimate transactions.
  • Supporter, Patron and Founder status does not grant cheaper travel, higher income, superior prices or special moderation treatment.

9. Farms and server performance

Efficient farms are part of Minecraft, but machines designed to create severe lag, bypass anti-AFK systems or destabilise the server are not allowed. Staff may require a farm, redstone system or entity collection to be modified, limited or disabled when it materially harms performance or fairness.

10. PvP and protected regions

  • Follow region flags and current test-phase instructions. Spawn and designated protected areas are safe zones.
  • Do not repeatedly target, spawn-camp, trap or harass a player through PvP.
  • Bounty-specific combat rules apply during Public Beta testing and may be refined as testing continues.
  • Combat logging, sanction evasion and using alternate accounts to manipulate PvP outcomes are prohibited.

11. Reports, evidence and privacy

  • Submit reports and appeals through the designated private Discord ticket system.
  • Do not publish accusations, private messages, IP addresses, payment references or personal data in public channels.
  • Provide original context, timestamps and unedited evidence where possible.
  • Do not fabricate evidence or pressure witnesses.

12. Staff powers and sanctions

Staff may investigate, inspect relevant logs, restore damage, remove illegitimate gains, issue warnings, mute, restrict, temporarily suspend or permanently ban accounts. Decisions consider severity, intent, harm, history, cooperation and risk to the community.

Purchases, Supporter, Patron or Founder status do not exempt anyone from these rules.

13. Appeals

Appeals must use a private Ban Appeal ticket. Explain what happened, identify the decision being appealed and provide relevant evidence. Public arguments, repeated tickets, threats or attempts to mobilise other users do not improve an appeal.

14. Changes and interpretation

Staff may update these rules to address new systems, exploits, safety risks or legal requirements. Material changes will be announced through the website or Discord with an updated publication date.

The English version is the controlling public version. During the current test phase, feature-specific test instructions may temporarily add stricter requirements.
